The Catawba Valley Basketmakers
meet on the 4th Sunday of the
month at Allen Frye Clubhouse,
between Conover & Hickory. We
welcome those who have an
interest in the art of basket making
and have knowledge of and experience
with basic basket making skills.
Our active, welcoming weavers
make all who visit want to come
again. We meet for fellowship,
sharing and weaving.
Some of us were fortunate enough to attend a Matt Tommey
class at the Train Depot in Old Fort on April 21st. It was an
exciting and beautiful day to visit the mountains. We spent
the day peeling and stripping..and then we chose lively and
supple materials to keep our hands busy.
